My First Mission Trip

The last thing I remember is the pilot saying is welcome to Brazil. This was my first international trip by flight and I was terrified and excited all at the same time. My heart always longed to travel abroad; I just never knew I would actually have the opportunity to actually do it. To say the least, my work in Brazil was the one of the best experiences that I have had to date. Being able to fellowship with my brothers and sisters in there was life changing; the language barrier wasn’t even a problem. The love that we all had for one another was the only communication that we needed; that and our amazing translators. Being able to visit and work in the orphanage was a memory that I will cherish for the rest of my life. We may have not been able to communicate in words, but we were able to play games, like soccer, and laugh and just enjoy each other. To see the smiles on the children’s faces is a picture in my mind that gives me strength when things get rough. I am blessed to have been able to have the experience that I did with my new family in Brazil. I cannot wait to return. #MyReachIsGlobal
